OpenEcoLab Mapping: The contact phase has begun! | OSEG e.V.

The summer is entering its final phase, and our OpenEcoLab Mapping is evolving! The next phase of our project has begun: a few days ago, we started reaching out to potential OpenEcoLabs across Germany to invite them to join the OpenEcoLab network.

Background: OpenEcoLabs are locations that implement open-source developments in hardware, as well as in software or educational materials. They are guided by sustainable goals and align with the principles of the Open Source Ecology movement and the Circular Society (to better understand OpenEcoLabs, please visit our manifesto and FAQ on our newly revamped website). We are working on this project to showcase places of sustainable open-source innovation and to connect the existing knowledge and skills. This aims to increase the visibility of the projects themselves. Ideally, like-minded individuals will connect through this network to support each other’s endeavors. The goal is to establish and network model locations and projects of practical action, the OpenEcoLabs.

Currently, we are mapping potentially interested projects on the fantastic Karte von Morgen (KvM). We use the KvM as a mapping tool, which we have integrated into our completely revamped “new” OpenEcoLab website. After the mapping and the ongoing contact phase, we will include the potential OpenEcoLabs that wish to join our network into our project-specific map of “verified” OpenEcoLabs.

You want to support us or be part of it? Wonderful!

If you are interested in joining our OpenEcoLab network, map your location or other suitable locations you know in the KvM (please use the tag “openecolab”) and send us a short email.

If you have mapped your own project, please fill out our survey for new OpenEcoLab locations so that we can learn more about you and your contact information.

We look forward to your entries and submissions. May the network grow.

Furthermore, we appreciate it if you make our project more well-known, talk about it, and inform potential OpenEcoLab enthusiasts in your area about our initiative.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email us at info@openecolab.de.

Your OpenEcoLab team, Benjamin, Timm & Martin from Open Source Ecology Germany e.V.
