In an extensive rebuild review in accordance with the DIN SPEC 3105 standardisation for open source hardware, we were able to check the documentation of the vhéliotech E-Cargo-Bike for completeness and confirm conformity. It is the most complex review with a complete rebuild to date.
On the occasion of the German-French VULCA seminar and the annual general meeting of the Verbund Offener Werkstätten in November 2024 at ZAM (Erlangen), we were even able to present the attestation certificate in person. In addition to our French colleagues from vhelio.org, the event was also attended by many other international players from the network.

The “vheliontech” is one of the best documented open source hardware projects we have looked at so far. All source information is included, a comprehensive BOM is included for filtering and as an ordering aid, and further tabular tools are included to help with assembly.
In addition to the award, we were able to witness other highlights at the event:
Impressions of the Solar Bike Race Winner including his original bike. Various workshops on electronics, soldering, beer brewing and content exchange for holistic regional development with open workshops as a vehicle. We were also able to vote on the new board on behalf of Open Source Ecology Germany e.V. as a full member of the Association of Open Workshops (VOW), which connects completely new spheres from our network. Networking, learning together, exchanging ideas on possible collaborations and presenting the award brought a healthy feeling for a successful event.
In addition to the presentation of the attestation, we were also able to have a more intensive exchange with recommendations for the open source documentation and also gain insights into the further work of the collective. We are very excited to see what happens next and what developments we can support in this way.
Congratulations to the “vhelio” team for the successful open source hardware documentation!
